Their grievance was clear: corruption in state examinations and the shocking appointment of officers to peon-level posts of relatives of politicians. Yet, beyond the immediate outrage, this protest shines a harsh light on the CJP agitation in Delhi, revealing how one movement was rooted in reform while the other was steeped in politics.

We will analyze the Delhi CJP protest through multiple parameters to better understand the underlying facts and outcomes.

Demands: Reform vs. Resignation

Jharkhand’s students asked for a CBI probe into exam corruption — a demand aimed at systemic reform. In contrast, the CJP protest revolved around a single political target: the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. No roadmap for reform, no solutions — just politics masquerading as student activism.

Slogans: Voices of Reform vs. Voices of Hatred

The Jharkhand protest was marked by student-centric slogans, free from abuse or religious undertones. The CJP agitation, however, descended into vitriol — targeting the Prime Minister, Home Minister, RSS, and even Sanatan Dharma. Religion had no place in exam reforms, yet it was weaponized to fuel division.

Faces of the Movement: Students vs. Politicians

Jharkhand’s protest was led by students themselves. The CJP agitation, on the other hand, leaned on celebrity activists and opposition figures — from Kapil Sibal, Kunal Kamra, Shabana Azmi to Swara Bhaskar — united not by reform but by hatred for the government. Even Sonam Wangchuk, who sought dialogue in the parliament, was reduced to a pawn in their narrative.

Suggestions: Reform vs. Political Theatre

Jharkhand’s students demanded structural change. The CJP protestors offered none — no blueprint for safer exams, no vision for transparency. Their sole agenda was to corner the government politically by getting resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan.

Political Support: Silence in Jharkhand, Noise in Delhi

Opposition leaders — Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Arvind Kejriwal — rushed to support the CJP protest. Yet, when Jharkhand’s students demanded a probe, these same leaders remained silent. Ironically, Congress shares power in Jharkhand, but Rahul Gandhi, who staged protests in Delhi, has not uttered a word on Jharkhand’s paper leak. Rahul Gandhi also choose silence over brutal force used by Kerala government on protesting student just few days ago of Delhi protests.

Violence: Peace vs. Aggression

Jharkhand’s students endured lathi charges and water cannons yet chose peaceful protest. The CJP agitation, in contrast, saw violent clashes, with over 100 police personnel injured. Opposition leaders showed no empathy for those who safeguard law and order.

Where Jharkhand’s protest will end is uncertain. But one truth is clear: these students have struck the right chord. They understand that resignation is futile — ministers come and go, but corruption remains unless the system itself is reformed.

On 10th August, Jharkhand’s Vidhan Sabha witnessed a surge of student voices demanding justice.
